People power is proving to be the best tonic for the future of a former Birkdale pub.
Many business owners have rallied around local community champion Jason McLeod to offer their support and services to spread the good word of his campaign to save the Blundell Arms and transform it into a community hub.
Jason has been fighting for years to win the rights to own the building but now faces a fight to stop housing firms from securing the land.
Now businesses are backing Jason, including North West Drone Media who have put together a short video advert to promote the good work the pub could be doing.
One of Jason’s supporters said
“This is exciting. A community owned pub, it’s about more than just a pub. The idea is that its hub for people in the community a place to socialise, relax and enjoy.
“People having ownership over thier local pub, facilitating the local community to continue to have a pub, but a pub that works for everyone in the community from parent and toddler groups to space for live local performances.
“What A great idea to save the Blundell arms!”
