Furious independent business owners have been forced to close up this week as council chiefs ripped up the road in Birkdale.
Having lost thousands in income from last months barrier closure shop owners are baffled that the council are again closing Liverpool Road for resurfacing just days after getting their road back.
Contractors say they are working in stages to minimise disruption but a number of businesses have made the decision to close to save wasted hours.
