Speed trap police are keeping Southport’s roads safe in Birkdale.
So far a number of businessmen have been stopped on their way to work after slightly exceeding the speed limit on Waterloo Road in Birkdale.
One driver was caught 3 miles an hour over the limit and was cautioned by officers who told them off for speeding in the rain and was warned he would soon be reviving a ticket in the post.
He told OTS he believes he was stopped to be made an example of by police as other drivers passed him. Police are also keen to catch drunk drivers who are risking being on the road the day after a Christmas Party
