A foreign man has been chased off by an angry resident after they caught him rooting through bins on Hill Street.

The young male who spoke with a thick Eastern European accent was spotted at 3am by a Hill Street resident who had been woken up in the early hours by the sound of bins being knocked over.

The angry resident told OTS News “I was sound asleep when I was rudely woken up by clattering bins.

“I went out and found a lad in his 20s cycling up and down the street rooting through our bins looking for something. I think he was trying to find old bills and letters so he could do identity theft.

“People need to be on their guard or padlock their bins. That’s what I’ll be doing now”
