According to locals, the barriers were stuck in the “down” position for around two hours today after a train went past when barriers were up, Wednesday 24 March 2016.
Local businessman, John Ford told OTSNews: “When I was at the front of queue, the barriers were up but the lights flashing…. cars became inpatient and started hooting horns.
“Luckily I didn’t go through as a train then went past with barriers still up, after this I decided to turn around and the barriers then went down.
“This could have ended disastrously, I have reported the incident to Merseyrail”.
