Mindless vandals target trees on Cambridge Road Southport Mindless vandals have once again been on the rampage in Southport. This time they targeted a number of young trees along Cambridge Road Southport. The roadside trees, which were planted to enhance the main road into Southport and compliment works undertaken, were snapped off. RTC Lord Street Southport The emergency services were called to Lord Street, Southport, at approximately 2:30pm this afternoon (Wednesday 4th February 2015) following reports of a collision. A Central Cab Taxi and a Peugeot collided on Lord Street at the junction to St Georges Place. Paramedics treated the taxi driver and the driver of the Peugeot at the scene for minor injuries.  Southport man jailed for 5 years 4 months    Joseph Inglesby, aged 38, of Market Street, Southport, was jailed for 5 years 4 months at Liverpool Crown Court for manslaughter. The man who ran the Art Shop in Market Street, Southport, punched his 61-year-old drinking buddy so hard it knocked him completely out.  His victim Robert Higgins was put of a life support machine in hospital but was turn off on August 14 after his health deteriorated.  The argument was over a £10 loan which Mr. Higgins borrowed a few days earlier.
