Merseyside Police and Merseyside Fire and Rescue Service (MFRS) have launched a joint investigation after a suspected arson in Birkdale last night, Sunday 15 January. At around 7pm, MFRS requested assistance after two vehicles were found on fire in Stanley Avenue. A BMW X5 was found damaged at the location and fire damage was also caused to a Renault Kangoo van. House-to-house, CCTV and forensic enquiries are ongoing and both vehicles have been recovered. Police and fire investigators are carrying out a full investigation to establish the circumstances.
