Fly-tipping nightmare continues outside Sandbrook Way flats

Fly-tipping has increased in the Sandbrook Road/Way area over the past few months. A sea of waste has accumulated outside the Sandbrook Way flats once again, after previous removals by the authorities. Even ‘No Dumping of Waste’ signs have now been obscured by the sprawling mountain of rubbish.

Councillor Lynne Thompson stated:

“It is extremely disappointing to receive further reports of fly tipping in this area. Residents are rightly angry to see their road used to dump unwanted items, like discarded mattresses, broken chairs, and builders’ rubble. Despite regular interventions from council and local housing officers as a councillor I still receive many requests for assistance. Fly tipping is a criminal offence (and where there is sufficient evidence) councils need to be much more robust in pursuing those who offend. “

The councillor also advised:

“If any problems reporting fly tipping are experienced by using the Council’s online form, please feel free to email details direct to lynne.thompson@sefton.gov.uk who will be happy to raise any concerns.”
