A Crime Alert for the residents of North Southport from Merseyside Police.

Burglaries

In the past fortnight burglaries or attempted burglaries have taken place in the following locations:

Westbourne Road, Vivian Drive, Salwick Close, Mount Street, Grove Street, Roselea Drive, Norwood Road, Sawdon Avenue, Byrom Street (shed), Stanley Street, Queens Road(shed), Ash Street, Morven Grove, Ivy Street, Chester Road.

 

Crime Prevention Tip

It is advisable after locking external doors to remove the key from the interior side of the lock. Burglars have been known to break a glass panel in the door and reach in to obtain the key left in the lock. This also applies to cat and dog flaps, an arm or even a tool can be inserted through the flap to reach the key.

Theft from motor vehicles or vehicle interference

Theft from motor vehicles occurred in the following locations:

Waterloo Road, Curzon Road, The Fallows, Broome Road, Compton Road, Wennington Road, Guildford Road, Alexandra Road

Vehicle Interference

Hart Street, Tithebarn Road, Montgomery Avenue, Chambres Road

 

Crime Prevention Tip

Cars parked on the road, in your drive and even in the garage should be locked when you leave the vehicle, even if it is only for a few minutes.

If you see someone walking down the street trying car doors to see if the vehicle is unlocked, that is the time to call the Police.

 

News from your Community Policing Team

Chris Jackson has been sentenced to 119 weeks in prison for burglary.

 

Following a report of a burglary on Vivian Drive Birkdale Michael Gallagher aged 34 has been arrested. Gallagher has been charged with aggravated burglary with intent and assault causing actual bodily harm. He was kept in custody for court appearance.
