    KGV College Celebrates A-level Success

    Staff and students at King George V College are celebrating another year of outstanding A level results.

    80% of the College’s students achieved grades of A* to C, while over 55% received the highest possible grades and the college’s overall A-level pass rate is an impressive 99.7% with a significant number of subject areas achieving 100% high grades.

    The College also received a 100% pass rate for BTEC Advanced Level Extended Diplomas with 97% of these at Distinction grade or above.

    Acting Principal Anne-Marie Francis said:

    “I couldn’t be happier. A level examinations are a gold standard in this country and these results reflect the hard work and aspiration of King George V students and staff.

    “It has been an inspirational year for me leading the quality improvement plan at the college and results like this demonstrate the quality of education available at KGV.

    “Many of our students have achieved such excellent grades that they have free choice of university destination including Oxford or Cambridge. It’s a very proud day for us all.”

    Julian McInerney, Chair of Governors added:

    “I’d like to congratulate all students and staff, whose hard work and commitment has produced such impressive results.

    “This proves categorically, that KGV should be the first choice for all Advanced Level study in the Southport area.”
