UPDATE
5 tickets were issued for excess speed, 1 for no seat belt and 1 car was seized for being driven without insurance. All drivers breathalysed and all negative (Friday 15 December 2017).
Eagle eyed officers were pulling over drivers in random Christmas spot checks to see if anyone is driving over the limit.
During the Christmas party season often drivers will take more risks even if they do not feel over the limit.
Their dangerous actions are now being tackled by police in a number of ways including a random stop and check on Waterloo Road as well as Police giving out single use breath tests.
