The fact is that the larger your home, the more it will cost to heat and cool it, and the more energy you will use. As we said, it’s not something that can work for everyone – you might need all the rooms in your home right now, for example, or perhaps you already live in a very eco-friendly property – but in some cases, it’s an ideal way to reduce your carbon footprint while also boosting your bank balance.

Although this is probably the easiest thing on this list to do, it’s still something that might be tricky for some people, but it’s definitely a good way to reduce your carbon footprint and get healthier, so why not give it a go and eat less meat?

Meat has a large environmental impact, not just because of how it’s transported around the country – and to other countries in some cases – but how it’s reared as well. It takes a lot of water and land to raise cattle or sheep, for example, and far less to grow vegetables and fruit. That’s just one of the reasons why adopting a vegan diet can be a good idea, but if that’s not something you want to do, don’t worry; you can just make small changes like drinking MYOM dairy free milk or having meat-free Mondays, for example. If that’s the case, then if you drive less, you’ll be reducing your own carbon footprint. It can be a big change, but by leaving your car at home and walking or using public transport, you can do a great deal of good for the planet and, once again, save money because owning a car is expensive.
