The 30 bay car park on Verulam Road (Botanic Gardens) is soon to become Pay & Display.

The aviary and fernery will close if Sefton Council have their way however it is not stopping the authority proposing to enforce pay and display charges to the Botanic Gardens car park on Verulam Road.

Sefton Council have documented they aim to reduce its spending by £55m over the next two financial years.

A Verulum Road resident quoted:

“This is ludicrous, people will just park on the streets, that’s if the park is really worth visiting after they close the both aviary and fernery. Is it really worth loosing visitors to generate a few extra pounds”.

Will the Pay & Display put you off visiting Botanic Gardens?
