The owners of popular The George Hotel in Southport said: “A neighbour asked to borrow a ladder as he  locked himself out.

“We did stress we didn’t think it long enough… However, try he might… We can confirm that afterwards he is absolutely fine too!

“Pride dented!! Was absolutely hilarious!!”
