Traffic wardens in Southport cashed in on prom night whilst parents dropped children off outside the Ramada hotel in Southport, Friday 3 July 2015.

Traffic wardens could be seen hiding behind gateposts on nearby Victoria Street, when parents were taking photographs of their child’s special day they seized the opportunity to stick tickets on cars.

One unhappy parent said:

“It’s 7.10pm and out of what we thought was restricted parking hours, I got back to car six minutes after I left it to find I had been issued a ticket.

When I asked the traffic warden why I was issued a ticket he laughed and said, good luck, try to appeal it”.

Another ticketed parent said:

“Traffic wardens could see us getting out of the car and never said anything, on my return I was ticketed”.
