Southport Parking Wardens underhand Christmas tactics

Parking attendants were out in force this morning ticketing vehicles only minutes after colleagues put out restricted parking cones down the road.

When the parking attendant(above) was questioned about why they were doing this, he replied: “Look the boss has told us to do this, besides there is a sign a top of Lord Street”.

Sefton Council issued 19,417 “parking charge notices” in the period January 1, 2014 to March 31, 2015

Half a million pounds was made by Sefton Council in a year from parking tickets issued in Southport.

On average, 43 tickets a day, or 1,294 a month, were issued, giving the council an income of more than £505,502 in a 15 month period.

The figures, obtained by the OTSnews through a Freedom of Information request, reveal that the Council issued 19,417 “parking charge notices” in the period January 1, 2014 to March 31, 2015.
