Bake for Heroes starts later this week and local business women Sophie (Guppy Graphics) and Concetta ([email protected]) Del Gaudio are holding a bake sale!

Over the next fortnight (17th April – 2nd May) they will be fundraising at Concetta @ Peaches, 74 Botanic Road, Churchtown, Southport. There will be lots of cake, as well as Help for Heroes wristbands and pin badges!

We spoke to Sophie about fundraising for H4H and she said, “Helping and supporting serving members of our armed forces and veterans is something that has always been close to my heart. With my love for baking, what better way to raise money!”

You can find out more about the event including days when you can donate and buy cakes at

Sophie is also wanting you to get in touch via her Guppy Graphics page if you know a serving member of the forces who you believe is a hero. Send a message via with their name, contact details and why you believe they are a hero. On Thursday 30th April, the names will be put into a beret and one picked at random to win a goodie pack!

If you are a local business and you would like to donate an item for the goodie pack then please email [email protected].

Cheryl Butterworth from Body Shop at Home is also helping Sophie and Concetta raise funds! She has pledged that for every Poppy Blusher Brush ordered through Sophie and Concetta, she will donate £2 to the fund!
