Safer Sleep Week 2017 – 6 steps to keep children alive

17th March 2017

Safer Sleep Week is taking place from 13-19 March. Organised by The Lullaby Trust and partners, the aim of Safer Sleep Week is to raise awareness of Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS) so parents and carers can take action to avoid it.

Every year, 250-300 babies in the UK die suddenly and unexpectedly in their sleep as a result of Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS). The North West has the highest death rate in England and Wales.

Sefton Safeguarding Children Board will be supporting Safer Sleep week through various local promotional activities as part of Merseyside Safer Sleep for baby campaign

For more information about local activities and the Sefton Safer Sleep campaign contact your health visitor or local children’s centre.
