Warwickshire Police are appealing for witnesses after a ‘road rage’ incident resulted in two assaults on the M40.

The incident happened on Sunday 17 May between 6pm and 6.30pm on the northbound carriageway of the M40, where the motorway joins the M42 at junction 3A.

A ‘road rage incident’ occurred resulting in two vehicles stopping in lanes one and two, a blue Mercedes and a grey Audi, tailgating a grey Lexus, forcing it to also come to a stop.

The occupants of the Mercedes and Audi then walked down the carriageway to the Lexus and proceeded to physically assault the driver and passenger inside. The victims, a man and woman, sustained minor facial injuries.

The offenders then left the scene in their vehicles heading north on the M42.

Anyone who witnessed the incident or who has information is asked to call PC 718 Barr of Warwickshire Operational Patrol Unit on 01926 415000, quoting incident 318 of Sunday 17 May.

Information can also be given to Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111 or www.crimestoppers-uk
