WATCH | Armed police arrest male in pre planned operation in Southport
Armed police swooped on an unsuspecting male in broad daylight this afternoon, Sunday 12 February 2017.
The suspect was arrested on Bridge Grove, Southport in what was a pre planned operation at around 3pm.
The wanted man was swiftly arrested without incident – although the severity of the operation was more than apparently.
Involved were members of the armed Merseyside Police unit along with NPAS Warton Police helicopter and nine patrol cars.
A member of the public told our reporter: “Armed police were waiting ready and waiting in the Texco petrol station prior to arrest and the helicopter was up, it was like something you only see on the tv!”
As yet it’s unknown what the male was arrested for.
