Golfers swing into action for charity fundraiser

OVER £9,000 has been raised for various charities thanks to the work of the Hesketh Golf Club junior section.

Members of the club say they are proud to have raised £9,500 throughout the last twelve months for charities including Breast Cancer Care, British Heart Foundation and Clatterbridge Cancer Trust.

A spokesperson for Hesketh Golf Club said: “Our member Madelaine Cruickshank helped organise a strawberry tea for Lady Captain’s Breast Cancer charity while Peter McVicar, course manager, came off the greens to run the popular Shindig in the Shed.

“Scott Astin and Martin Edge, the club professionals, organised various fundraising events while still managing to find time to run the new Ladies Golf Academy.”
