Elderly woman has purse stolen at supermarket in Leyland

Officers investigating the theft of a purse from an elderly woman in Leyland have released a CCTV image of a man and woman they would like to speak to.

The theft took place between 1.30pm and 2pm on Friday, February 5 at Morrisons supermarket on Croston Road in Farington Moss.

The victim, an 84 year old woman, went to pay for her shopping at the till when she realised that her purse had been taken from her handbag.

PC Lee Tickle of Chorley Police said: “We are keen to trace the two people pictured in the CCTV image in connection with the theft and I would urge anyone who recognises them or has any information that could assist with our enquiries to contact us.”
