1st May 2015

The official ‘Do Something Funny for Money’ day at Churchtown Primary began with ‘Wake and Shake’ on the playground, led by Miss Lucas and Mr King.

The event was followed by a game of Extreme pictionary where the school was broken up into teams and had to draw teachers and guess who they were. The result were close but in the end the Teaching Assistants came out on top, the results were:

1st – Teaching Assistant (4 points)

2nd – Teachers (3 points)

3rd – Sports Ambassadors (2 points)

4th – Senior Management (1 point)

Throughout the day various members of the staff led a whole school danceathon on the playground. They danced to classics like ‘YMCA’ and ‘Lets get ready to rumble’, which earlier in the week earned them a very special visit from Ant and Dec, and a mix of modern day anthems like ‘Uptown Funk’. In total the Sports Ambassadors managed to dance for a very impressive 5 hours.

Mr King and Miss Lucas said: “We would like to thank all children, parents and staff for the incredible effort and support they have put into the last two weeks. We hope you enjoy our final ‘Grand National’ challenge today on the field.”

In total the school has raised a massive £1,354.68 for charity, with still time to donate. If you would like to donate now to the schools cause, please visit:
