BID excited for ‘Southport Independents’ which starts in March

We are excited to be launching our ‘Southport Independents’ campaign this March.

Recent market research for Visit Southport discovered there are more independent restaurants and bars in Southport town centre per square metre then London? That is something to shout about in our opinion!

We want to celebrate the unique and wonderful small businesses in Southport and help people, both local and visitors, to rediscover and unearth the hidden gems of Southport and experience shopping, eating and socialising in Southport in a whole new light.

We will be hosting three ‘Independents Weeks’ throughout the year, packed full of events, offers and promotions designed to introduce people to you and to profile the brilliant individual businesses and shopping streets that aren’t in the spotlight enough.  Our very first ‘Independents Week’ will take place March 20th-26th and will feature a week of heavy campaigning and promotion of all your offers, events and promotions through local media, Facebook and Twitter.

Free to join, the campaign will also be supported by a website and blog and each business participating will receive a page on the website. We will also be introducing a loyalty card to be distributed to offices and given out in participating venues.  This card will enable you to promote different offers and events directly to card holders for free all year.

We will be sharing lots of information about the family cafes, unique shops and vibrant bars in the corners of Southport town centre and customers will be encouraged to delve into our website, follow us on social media and begin to rediscover the wealth of small but often hidden businesses that make our town charming and interesting!
