Attempted burglary in Southport

Merseyside Police can confirm officers received a report of an attempted burglary in Southport yesterday (Monday, 25 January 2016).

At about 9.10pm a member of the public reported hearing breaking glass and seeing a male attempt to force entry to a garage on Duke Street.

Police patrols were set up on foot in the surrounding area. The police helicopter was not available but on  indicating person at large in the area.

No arrests were made and police patrols stood down in the area at 10.15pm.
