70-year-old Horse Chestnut outside the Hesketh cut down
Sefton Council contractors were this morning cutting down a 70-year-old Horse Chestnut tree from outside the Hesketh Arms, Churchtown, Southport, Wednesday 24 August 2016
OTSNew.co.uk was invited along to watch the tree surgeons carefully cut the Horse Chestnut down.
A Sefton Council officer explained “The 70-year-old Horse Chestnut was suffering decay in main stem therefore there is a concern over structure.”
Locals gathered to watch, Nick Green told our report “What a joke – there are still leaves on it, so why are they chopping it to pieces, probably to take the wood chips back to use in South Park, Bootle”
