The emergency services were called to the aid of an elderly women just after 3pm today, Monday 13 April 2015.
The women in her eighties had fallen from her wheelchair outside B&M bargains on Lord Street.
The good people of Southport comforted the lady and gave her jackets whilst waiting for the ambulance.
Traffic wardens directed traffic around the scene.
A member of the public said:
“It’s outrageous having to wait so long, it’s good job the public looked after her”.
At 3.50pm an ambulance finally arrived and treated the lady at the scene before transferring her to Southport Hospital.
