Young volunteers presented recognised by Woodlands Animal Sanctuary

Young volunteers at an animal sanctuary have been presented with special treats for all their hard work helping the centre.

Woodlands Animal Sanctuary is an independent registered charity who rely solely upon funds raised by themselves and members of the public.

A special event to acknowledge the achievement of the many young fundraisers was held at the Holmeswood site with each youngster being given a sponsorship pack for a year as a thank you.

The packs were presented to the youngsters at the centre’s last open day to the applause of visitors and proud tears of their parents.

Sally McDerby from the sanctuary said: “This summer has seen the next generation of fundraisers really step up to the mark, raising hundreds of pounds for the charity.

Among them were Alfie Kay, Laurie Kay, Phoebe Ewins and Amy Wright who baked and then held a cake sale raising a grand total of £100, which was donated to Woodlands.”
