Woodlands – Do you have any unwanted items that could be used as prizes for Woodlands Animal Sanctuary’s next open day?

As most people’s thoughts are on the long summer holidays and either parents struggling to find activities for their children or the rest of us enjoying the quieter commute to work for a month – most of us are trying not to think of the start of September.  It is much the same at Woodlands Animal Sanctuary with the added pressure of their largest open day of the year fast approaching; Woodlands Animal Sanctuary Family Fun Day.  From 10:30 until 4:30 Woodlands fling open their doors once again to welcome back their loyal supporters, but to hopefully meet a whole new bunch of people who would like to become a part of the Woodlands family in some way or another.  So put the Sunday 3rd September in your diary and make a date with your family, children, friends and dogs to pop along and support a very worthwhile charity and enjoy a fabulous family friendly day out as well.  From children’s games, various stalls, a fun dog show complete with seasons championship to meeting and greeting the resident animals and enjoying the various demonstrations that will be taking place in the main arena all day – there is no need to even pack a picnic and food will be available for everyone from vegans to meat lovers.

Prior to this however, is the planning and preparation – once again, you can be a part of this massive operation if you would like to be. Hannah one of the newest members of the animal care team says “although I am slightly dreading the build-up and all the preparations I am also really quite excited to see the event on the day.  I have heard from the rest of the team just how much bigger the Family Fun Day is compared to the other open days we hold and so I’m really looking forward to being a part of it this year and hope that anyone who supports us or cares for animals, could support us in any way they can.”

Woodlands are always looking for items to be donated for events like this such as wine, chocolates, children’s prizes and any unwanted gifts.  Any items that can be used as prizes on the various games stall they have.  So if you are looking for an excuse to have a clear out but always hate the thought of throwing away a potentially good tea set, a still usable board game or a bottle of perfume that you just know you are never going to use – please drop it off at Woodlands over the next two weeks so that it can be added to the prizes and treasures on offer at the Family Fun day.
