Despite Sefton Council charging £4.50 for cars to enter Ainsdale beach today the public facilities remained closed, Sunday 5 April.

A member of the public on the beach said:  “Hundreds of people were here today and a lot of them running into the Sandhills to pee, including women”.

“There was an old lady of 81-years old who was told to go to Pontins to use their toilets she got there but was refused she went back to entrance to the beach they sent her to the ranger station were they refused her use of their toilet. She was in tears when she spoke with us we told her to use the pubs toilets she was very upset.”
