Woman airlifted to hospital following Derby Road crash (otsnews.tv)

Emergency services were called to the Kensington Road junction of Derby Road shortly after 3:45pm this afternoon following a 999 call, Tuesday 20 April 2016.

Two cars collided at the junction resulting in all occupants requiring medical treatment. Crowds of people gathered at the scene whilst air ambulance circled above.

A 55-year-old woman from the first car was assessed at the scene by paramedics and firefighters stabilised the vehicle.

She was taken to Southport and Formby District General Hospital by road for further checks.

A five-month-old-baby and a 59-year-old woman from the second vehicle were assessed at the scene by paramedics and taken to Ormskirk and District General Hospital by road for precautionary checks.

Firefighters remained at the scene for around one hour.

The condition of the injured is not known at the present time, OTS News will have an update later
