Witness appeal following serious collision in Leyland

WE are appealing for witnesses to a collision in Leyland which has left a woman in a critical condition in hospital.

At around 9.50am this morning (Tuesday 14 July) a motorcyclist was involved in a collision with a pedestrian on Golden Hill Lane.

The pedestrian, a 44-year-old local woman, suffered serious head injuries and was taken to Royal Preston Hospital where she remains in a critical condition.

The motorcyclist, a 42-year-old man, was also treated at hospital and is helping us with our enquiries.

The road was closed for three hours to facilitate an investigation.

Sgt 224 Rob Gomery of the Road Policing Unit said: “This collision has left the woman in a critical condition and I would urge any witnesses or anyone with information that could assist with our on-going investigation to contact us.”
