Witness appeal after woman seriously injured in Bamber Bridge crash

Police are appealing for witnesses after an 81 year old woman was seriously injured following a collision in Bamber Bridge.

At shortly before 11am on Saturday November 7 a Ford Transit van was travelling down St Marys Road and turned left into Ellen Street. The 81 year old pedestrian stepped out to cross the road when she was involved in a collision with the van.

She sustained injuries to her head and spine and was taken to Royal Preston Hospital where she remains.
The road was closed for two hours to facilitate an investigation.

Sgt Finn Quainton of the Road Policing Unit said: “Our enquiries are on-going to establish the circumstances of the collision and I would urge anyone who was in the area at the time and may have witnessed what happened to contact us.”
