Witness appeal after indecent exposure arrest in Ormskirk

Police are appealing for information after a man was arrested on suspicion of indecent exposure in Ormskirk.

Officers were called to Ormskirk Parish Church in Park Road around 2pm on September 30 after reports a male was exposing himself in the churchyard.

Police attended and arrested a 70-year-old man on suspicion of indecent exposure.

It is believed the male could be seen from Park Pool swimming baths, near to the churchyard.

A woman initially reported the alleged incident to staff at the swimming pool and officers would like to speak to this individual or any other witnesses.

PC Helen Smith from Skelmersdale Police said: “This woman left the swimming pool but returned a short time afterwards to say that the man was still in the cemetery and on this occasion, staff members made a quick search of the area and were believed to actually observe the male in the cemetery who they pointed out to the police upon their arrival.

“Enquiries commenced in order to locate this woman but at this time she has yet to have been identified and located.”

A 70-year-old man has been bailed until October 22 pending further enquiries.
