About Queenscourt Hospice
Queenscourt Hospice is a local charity that provides support for the people of Southport, Formby and West Lancs. We care for patients with serious illnesses, enabling them to achieve the best possible quality of life at each new stage. We help to do this both in the Hospice and at Home through our In-Patient unit, Queenscourt Connect and Queenscourt at Home services. You can find out more about what we do on our Services page.
We receive less than 1/3rd of our costs from the NHS and the rest of the money comes from charitable donations that help keep the hospice running! We have a small team of staff who help us to achieve this by setting up and running events, visiting the community to hold fundraisers and working with local organisations to secure grants and other forms of income. There are a lot of ways you can donate money to help us continue offering our services. Why not visit our Donation page, or click on the Fundraising tab at the top of the website to learn all about our Events, Charity Shops, Lottery and more!
Queenscourt requires over 100 staff members to stay open, including Doctors, Nurses, Healthcare Assistants, Physiotherapists and many other roles. Even with all of these staff members however the work we do would not be possible without our huge team of Volunteers who work in our shops, help out around the Hospice, answer the phones, maintain our gardens, manage support groups and set up events on our behalf to raise money. We are always looking for more help, if you are able to spare a few hours a week or more then please take a look at our Volunteering page. We are always welcome to suggestions too so if you think you can offer help with something that isn’t listed then please get in touch!
