Window cleaner wiped out by judge for pedo slur

26th April 2019

An angry window cleaner who called a traffic warden a paedophile when he received a parking ticket has been given a curfew and told to pay compensation.

John Joseph, 55, of Princes Street, Southport, appeared for sentencing at Sefton Magistrates Court recently after previously pleading guilty to two charges of using abusive or insulting words or behaviour to cause harassment, alarm or distress, and also to driving without a licence or insurance.

The court heard that Joseph took issue with a parking ticket he was given saying he is a window cleaner and can park anywhere. He was abusive shouting ‘Paedo, paedo’ at the traffic warden. Three days later there was a further altercation with Joseph again calling the warden a paedophile in the street.

For using abusive or insulting words the magistrates sentenced him to a six-week 7pm – 7am curfew and ordered that he pay £100 in compensation to the traffic warden.
