Whites estate agents in Southport have now closed its Hoghton Street shop.
Whites are the latest estate agents in the town centre to close down. There are around thirty letting and estate agents in Southport all competing with one another. The majority of which all use the same databases were you can search for houses in the town, i.e. rightmove or zoopla.
If selling a house there are no big fees anymore its highly competative resulting in less profit for the estate agents and the seller paying smaller fees.
Local estate agent Gavin McGuire from McGuire estates quoted:
“Its not nice to see any business in the town centre close. With an average of six sales per week, this is only covers our overheads in a highly competitive market”.
