Heartless vandals have smashed up a modified van that was due to go to a disabled person in Southport.

A firm on Crowland Street which makes accessible and customised vehicles for disabled people were shocked this morning to find that one of their custom vans was vandalised overnight and the wheels were stolen.

Police are asking anyone who comes across or is being sold Ford Connect 17 wheels to come forward as they may be the same ones stolen from Crowland Street.

The incident has been reported to the police and inquiries are ongoing.
