What you need to know about Elite Fighting Championships 12

Elite Fighting Championships is set to present its twelfth show on the 4th June 2016, Elite Fighting Championships 12, Revenge or Repeat! However, for the first time since the promotion began it will be on a Saturday evening as opposed to the regular Sunday afternoon show. A tantalising fight card has been produced by Phil Barton and his team at Elite Promotions in order to continue delivering World Class Muay Thai & Kickboxing at the Prince of Wales Hotel, Lord Street, Southport.

Topping the bill is a much anticipated rematch between Jake Barton of the Elite Gym in Southport and Jan Julius Humme of Bodegraven Boxing Club in Amsterdam, Netherlands. This bout will be fought over 5×3 minute rounds for the ISKA Intercontinental Championship at Super Middleweight. Both fighters know one another well as they have shared the ring before on the Elite Fighting Championships 10 where Barton took a unanimous points victory after 3 hard fought rounds. Since then Humme has had revenge on his mind and has gone on a fabulous winning streak that has seen him capture a second Dutch championship and defend it successfully on the World Renowned Enfusion Live show in Amsterdam. Barton however, was sidelined following the fight due to a serious illness and wont step back in the ring until the rematch. So Humme has been the more active fighter which could certainly play to his advantage, he is also confident that he wont make the same mistakes as last time and is certain this time he will return to Holland with the win and the championship belt wrapped around his waist. Barton disagrees however “I respect Juul” he said recently “but make no mistake I wont be playing around, I want that title and he’s the only obstacle in the way. On 4th June Its business as usual and my arm will be raised at the end of the fight”. So will it be ‘Revenge’ for Humme or a ‘Repeat’ performance for Barton? Find out Saturday 4th June.

There will be a strong presence of fighters from Southport on this show representing Elite Gym Southport, Imperial Academy Southport and Team Chan.

Team Chan Fighter Jamie Pudge will return to Elite Fighting Championships after a solid performance on the last show with a 5 round domination over Lewis White. This time Pudge will be fighting under A Class Full Muay Thai Rules against Duane Barnes. Barnes who took a short notice fight against Southport’s Adi Woods on the last show came up short in a back and forth fight that saw the pair trade nasty elbows and knees. Barnes has since been recruited into the Elite Team and this will be his first appearance representing Team Elite Southport. With both fighters pleasing the crowd on the last event be sure they will be bringing their best yet again to give fight fans a treat.

Three North West Area titles will feature on this instalment of the Elite Fighting Championships, making a total of 4 Championship bouts, the most titles up for grabs at any EFC event thus far. Elite Southport’s Liam Gittins will be fighting for the ISKA Lightweight North West Area Title under C Class Thai Rules. Jason O’Hara of Imperial Gym Southport will be facing Martin Hundziak of Shor Chana’s in Preston for the ISKA Light Welterweight North West Area title again under C Class Thai Rules, and Elite Southport’s Paddy Davies and Skelmersdale Thai Boxing’s Marc Sinclair will both fight it out under K-1 Style Kickboxing for the ISKA Welterweight North West Area Title.

Elite Southport Fighters Didzis Musulis, Tom Blundel, JJ Jones, Julian Wentworth, Igor Puskarskis, John Stanton & Alex Read will all feature on this event a ling with Imperial Southport’s Erik Brew. Opponent still to be confirmed for one of Imperial Southport’s top fighters Adi Woods.
