WEST END PLAYERS present ‘CURTAIN UP ON MURDER’
Preview by Ellen Campbell
For their latest production Southport’s last church hall drama group, The West End Players, have chosen a murder mystery written by Bettine Manktelow, author of ‘Prescenophobia’, called ‘Curtain Up on Murder’.
It is good to know that amateur drama is still thriving in the town as a number of new members have joined this friendly society this year, several of whom feature in this play.
The story concerns an amateur dramatic group who are rehearsing in a theatre at the end of a pier when they find themselves locked in. One by one they meet with a fatal accident, until only two are left. Or are there more?
Produced by Diana Draper and Wendy Aspin, the play opens on Fri Oct 10th to Sat Oct 11th at 7.30 each evening with a matinee on Saturday at 2.15pm. Tickets are just £5 including refreshments and can be bought at the door or from any member of the Society.
