The Met Office has issued weather warnings for the North West on Saturday.

Storm Katie is threatening to turn the Easter weekend into a washout and could disrupt travel after the Met Office issued severe weather warnings for England and Wales.

Gusts of up to 65mph are expected on Saturday, together with a band of rain sweeping from west to east across the country.

A yellow “be aware” warning covers almost the whole of England and Wales on Saturday, advising the six million people expected to travel over the weekend that the bad weather could affect their journeys.
