The Met Office have issued a yellow warning lasting until midnight on Tuesday 14th Jan regarding the high winds currently hitting the Irish Sea coastline.

High winds can be cause a high demand for the emergency services. Please pay attention to such warnings.

Drivers should take care on coastal roads and the Formby by-pass. Motorcyclists and cyclists are advised against travel unless essential.

Please ensure wheely bins and garden furniture are secure and cannot be blown into traffic.

Pedestrians also need to be aware of their surroundings in high winds.
