Wear yellow this Tuesday to support Bebe’s Hive and World Bee Day

17th May 2025

Schools and businesses across Southport are quickly signing up wearing yellow on Tuesday (May 20th) in aid of Bebe’s Hive.

Posting on Instagram today Bebe’s Hive say they’re encouraging as many people as possible to join in with World Bee Day, which has now become synonymous with the Community Interest Company set up in memory of Bebe King.

They would like people at some point throughout the day to wear yellow and share images on social media to encourage donations to both Bebe’s Hive and Elsie’s Story, the charity launched in memory of Elsie Dot Stancombe.

The Hive Instagram page posted “From Monday, we’ll be celebrating BEE WEEK here at Bebe’s Hive

“Five days of gentle, joyful posts to celebrate World Bee Day and honour the heart of our hive: Bebe, and the beautiful symbolism of the bee.
Bees have always meant something special to us — and this week, we’ll be sharing why.

“From the meaning behind our name to the values we’re built on, each post will explore a little more of the story behind Bebe’s Hive.

“Already, some local schools and nurseries have shared plans to wear yellow or bright colours on Tuesday 20th May, to honour our girl and support Bebe’s Hive and Elsie’s Story.

“We invite you to join in too! Whether you’re part of a school, workplace, community group, or simply someone who cares.”
