We need friends like ‘Rubbish Friends’

The resort’s Rubbish Friends group filled 58 bags of rubbish from Foul Lane and surrounding areas last week.

Group co-founder, Cambridge Ward Councillor Pat Keith said: “The area was strewn with litter of all kinds and there was a putrid smell.

“It was so bad that the name Foul was very appropriate! But the

volunteers worked hard to clear it and I take my hat off to them for spending their hard-earned time clearing other people’s rubbish.

“The scene we were greeted with shows what can happen if incon- siderate and selfish people treat our town like a rubbish dump.”
