UDATE: Burglary suspect arrested after police chase in High Park

A 19-year old man was arrested in High Park this morning on suspicion of burglary after a police chase.

Police made the arrest after pursuing the suspect on foot. A second man, thought to be wearing jeans and a blue top, escaped.

Officers were called to an address in Lawson Street at around 7.25am, to a report that two unknown males were in a garden. A police spokesman said: “Officers attended and following a pursuit on foot, a male was discovered in a garden in the High Park Road area.”

A 19-year-old man, from Sidcup, Greater London, was arrested at the scene on suspicion of burglary. He remains in police custody where he will be questioned. The second male is described as being white, around 20-30 years old, and wearing blue jeans and a striped top, possibly blue and white.

An investigation has been launched and enquiries are on-going into this incident. House to house enquiries are being carried out and CCTV opportunities are being explored.
