Warning over large gatherings during warmer weather before stricter COVID rules apply

The Public are being cautioned against gathering in large numbers with hotter weather predicted by the Met Office, before stricter coronavirus rules come into force. Meetings of more than six people will no longer be allowed across England from Monday.

Selfish individuals blamed for rise in infection rates

Selfish individuals ignoring safety restrictions and those promoting ‘tin-hat’ conspiracy theories (that have been discredited by experts) are being blamed for the rise in infections in many instances. Others have laid the blame at the feet of the Government.

The Covid infection rate across the Merseyside area has increased quickly over the previous week.

Yesterday, all boroughs across the region were added to the government’s watch list. This means new constraints could be applied before long.

Schools affected

Some Merseyside schools have not had full scale eruptions, because they have had many cases that are not connected to each another. However, some have had to close because of a succession of positive tests.
