Warning after schoolboy is chased by male stranger

A young schoolboy was forced to run and seek help from his fellow pupils after being followed through Southport by a strange man this morning.

Parents of schoolchildren at Norwood Primary and Meols Cop have been told to be on the lookout after a schoolboy was followed by a suspicious and strange male near to Norwood Road this morning.

The as yet unidentified male was described as in his late 30’s possibly early 40’s, wearing achecked shirt, black pants. He was slightly bald with dark tufts of hair at the sides

In a chilling description the vulnerable schoolboy said the man was deliberately stood behind some trees at the bottom of Norwood Rd Bridge in the woodland, close by to the local primary school.

The boy’s mum has now warned others to be alert.

She said “the man started to follow him to school. Upon this my son increased his speed but the man did the same.

“My son ran down norwood Rd and the man was following closely behind also running.

“He was followed down norwood Rd to the carpet shop and merged with a group of other pupils from meols cop.

“this is when the man stopped and disappeared. If anyone has seen this scumbag or your child has seen anything can you please call the police.”
