Young people from the Prince’s Trust Southport Team have been working with Sefton Council’s Parks and Greenspaces over the past couple of weeks to help improve a couple of Southport parks.

Canning Road Recreation Ground and Devonshire Road Recreation Ground have both benefitted from the efforts of the young volunteers, including gardening work and painting the goalposts, fences and shelters.

Cllr Trish Hardy, Cabinet Member for Communities and Housing at Sefton Council, said, “The young people completed this work as part of their 12 week programme of community activities.

“They have made a huge difference to these two recreation areas and we would like to thank them for their contribution which will be much appreciated by local residents.”
