Coronavirus deniers and anti vaccination campaigners have targeted the former Sands pub building on Ainsdale as a protest against a coronavirus army campsite just yards away.
The army have been drafted into Pontins Ainsdale where they are staying over the coming months to help roll out Operation Moonshot, a mass coronavirus testing programme which has started in Liverpool.
However army personnel will now have to face graffiti with the messages ‘Gates Army’ and ‘Covid Scam’ scrawled across the shuttered windows of the former Sands Pub on Shore Road.
The messages refer to a conspiracy theory that Bill Gates, the tech mogul and billionaire, is connected to the alleged man made creation of the Coronavirus pandemic.
