Violin going for a song is swiped by quick fingered thief

A music minded thief has been caught on camera stealing a violin from a Southport charity shop.

A young woman caught on camera at the Leicester Street ONO Shop has stolen a violin thought to be worth nearly £50.

The woman, who is described as being in her late twenties was with what appears to be her mother or a relative when she was spotted on CCTV casing he Shop looking for easily stealable items.

A violin worth £45 caught her eye and staff say she returned by herself fifteen minutes later to swipe the musical instrument.

The charity shop are now looking for people to come forward anonymously with information to be passed onto the police.
